The eye drops is a form of medicine used to treat eye diseases. The liquid drops are made with distilled water, pure or with penicillin, corticosteroids etc.. It is not a good idea to use eye drops to only an aesthetic purpose, without any real therapeutic need. The eye drops for diagnostic purposes
(mydriatics) are based belladonna and are used to dilate the pupil. Frequent use of eye drops is based antiseptics and antibiotics, sulfa drugs and antihistamine eye drops. Any eye drops to be used must strictly comply with the conditions of isotonic with tear fluid, the pH varying between 7.4 and 7.7, and sterility. Some eye drops are also in the form of ointment.
